That’s all you get for today.
THE SUN CAME TODAY!
Hah I sound like I haven’t seen it for years. But I was really happy when it came into our living room properly today. It hasn’t been there for a long time
I just sat in the window looking at it until it went away again….that was like a minute.
Then I made a weird face. Voila.
Day 31 of 366
It’s been a month!
February starts tomorrow!
Finally January is over.

The idea for this photo series started with a photo Brynna posted back in December. www.flickr.com/photos/12050385@N05/2147100166/. I thought the Cub Scout shirt was a great styling idea for some pin-up images, and we started collaborating.
We had started collaborating on some ideas for a shoot, and knew we wanted to shoot images with pinup styling. Then, in the first week of January, the Library of Congress started posting a stream of color images from the 30’s and 40’s. It’s a wonderful collection, and if you haven’t seen it already, you owe it to yourself to check it out (http://www.flickr.com/photos/library_of_congress/collections/72157601355524315/). Anyway, as soon as I saw this stream, and that there are no known copyright restrictions on the images, I thought it would be a fun photo project to echo Brynna’s orginal idea, but really trying to blend her into some of these vintage images. Hence the “NOW and THEN” titling of these images.
The original image used for this composite shot, was shot by Jack Delano and published in 1943, and is called “John Kelseh, blacksmith, at his forge in the blacksmith shop at the roundhouse, Rock Island R.R., Blue Island, Ill.” It can be seen here:

Elad Rubin has added a photo to the pool:

Left my childhood behind
In a roll away bed
Everything was so damn simple
Now I’m losing my head
Trying to cover up the damage
And pad out all the bruises
too young to know i had it
So it didn’t hurt to lose it
Didn’t hurt to lose it
No but oh
I’ll keep on rolling down this road
But I’ve got a bad, bad feeling
